FLN Corners: Literacy Light Festival

The Teach for Change Foundation's Literacy and Numeracy Corner Initiative enhances foundational literacy and numeracy among government school students. This year, we impacted 54,000 students across 19 districts in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka through the Literacy Light Festival.

The festival is a hands-on, exhibition-style event held during Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) to engage parents in their child's English learning. Students lead interactive English activities, allowing parents to witness their progress and support learning at home. Teachers receive training and ready-to-use materials, ensuring effective implementation.

Aligned with NEP 2020, NCF 2023, and NIPUN Bharat, the festival promotes experiential learning, parental involvement, and competency-based education. Activities like storytelling, role-playing, and phonics games build reading fluency and confidence in young learners. By fostering a strong reading culture, this initiative ensures sustainable literacy development in government schools.
