TFC Volunteer Literacy Program

The Teach for Change (TFC) Volunteer Literacy Program enhances English literacy, leadership skills, and foundational learning for students in Grades 3 to 8. With 1,457 volunteers across 4 states, TFC addresses understaffing by placing trained volunteers in government schools to improve communication and oracy skills.

Volunteers transform students’ confidence, bridge teaching gaps, and gain leadership experience through flexible short-term sessions, practicums, and workshops. Operating in Telangana, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu, the program fosters community connections and sustainable change.

Aligned with NEP 2020, NCF 2023, and NIPUN Bharat, TFC supports foundational literacy, interactive learning, and personalized reading interventions. Assessments show significant student progress, with many advancing in reading fluency.
